Those people who have lived in the area for a while have no doubt noticed the local variations in weather around Khao Yai, Pak Chong, Moo Sii and the Khao Yai Land View area, particularly during rainy season. While areas just a few kilometers west and northwest of Land View often experience very heavy rains, Land View precipitation is quite moderate most of the time. The small mountains just to the west must be responsible for shielding Land View from torrential downpours. So there is less concern about drainage and runoff here than in other areas nearby.
Even if rains are very heavy there is definitely no flooding danger here because the land is a gentle slope with elevation higher than surrounding areas. But even local drainage issues are of only minor concern because of the more moderate rainfall. There are a few homes nearby that even have basements – no flooding problems here. A basement is a nice cool place to relax on a hot afternoon, no air conditioning required. And it’s a handy place for your wine cellar – don’t forget about the great wineries in this area (see Local Attractions for more about that).
